About Coastal Vineyards
Coastal Vineyards is a small winery located on the southeastern shore of
Massachusetts. We started our vineyard preparation in 2004,
planted 4200 grape plants in 2005 and 4800 plants in 2006. The
eight acres of grapes consist of eight different varietal varieties;
Chardonnay, Pinot Gris, Gewurztraminer, Riesling, Sauvignon Blanc, Pinot
Noir, Merlot, Cabernet Franc. Our farm has the potential of an
additional 4 acres of vines to be planted, totaling 12 acres.
The fall of 2007 we harvested a small crop allowing us to produce a
small quantity of wine. In the fall of 2008 we harvested 7 tons of
grapes which will produce a little more than 300 cases. Our future
potential wine production for our vineyard is 1500 cases.
Our approach to winemaking is to bring out the wonderful fruit flavors
of each varietal while also blending different varieties to create
unique bouquets and mouth feels that can not be found with individual
varieties. While much of our wines are fermented and aged in
stainless steel tanks and barrels, we do use oak barrels judiously to
add complexity and flavors.
We are open for retail business at our winery every
Friday, Saturday and Sunday from noon to 5pm. We announce special releases and special
events through email releases. Please leave us your email address
